Again was directed to your blog by a friend. Totally agree that I, like many others, am totally amazed and confused by this decision. Qatar's 2030 Vision is all about developing a knowledge based economy and being a competitor on the global stage - whilst the cultural traditions should be maintained along with the Arabic language, English is an essential competence if the Vision is to be achieved. Sadly there have been many disjointed decisions made by the SEC in the last 3 years, and the original vision of the Reform has been lost.
Let's hope this retrograde step will be overturned soon

Moves like these not only effect those directly involved but also feeds a more general feeling of instability in the entire workforce population. It breeds a lack of trust when you know that a new ruling could suddenly make your job obsolete, which, in turn, greatly effects how and where money and time is invested.

A friend sent me to your blog. I'll certainly keep coming back.

A friend directed me to your blog. Highly interesting stuff here.

Recent events (this ruling, ban of alcohol, boycott of Qatar Airlines, photos used during the National Day celebrations) does make one wonder what is going on behind the political screen and how will it effect the future.
